My Role
As a certified HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Educator (HBCE), I offer an immersive 5-week childbirth education program based on HypnoBirthing®International Institute’s Mongan Method. I also provide one-on-one support within the curriculum and offer energy work to both birthing and non-birthing clients. Energy work is provided outside the scope of HypnoBirthing and is available independently of the program.
I am not a medical professional, midwife, doula, counsellor, or hypnotherapist. I do not diagnose or treat medical or psychological conditions. I do not offer medical advice or prescriptions and will never interfere with the guidance or care provided by licensed healthcare providers. All hypnosis scripts I use are those approved by HypnoBirthing® International and written by qualified hypnotherapists.
Scope of Practice
My role is to educate and guide you in preparing for birth using relaxation, breathwork, visualization, and hypnosis techniques. As an HBCE, I am trained in:
Providing evidence-based information on birth physiology in the absence of special circumstances, nutrition for pregnancy and breastfeeding, and safe infant sleep
Guided and self-guided hypnosis
Meditation and relaxation
Visualizations and affirmations
Birth positions and movement
Working with birth hormones
Supporting informed decision-making
I hold a Master’s degree in Public Health with a concentration in Maternal, Child, and Indigenous Health. While this informs my understanding of birth systems and evidence-based care, it does not qualify me to offer medical advice or treatment. I am here to help you discover and embody your ability to advocate for yourself and your baby from an informed and grounded place. Your body, your baby, your choice.
In addition to HypnoBirthing®, I offer intuitive energy work. I am certified through Ruth Lera’s New Earth Energy School (2024) and Lisa Erickson’s Contemplative Energy Work Practitioner Training (2025). I am also completing additional training in Reiki for Birth Workers and Gabor Mate’s Compassionate Inquiry for Perinatal Period. I use techniques such as intention-setting, intuitive guidance, compassionate listening, and hands-on or distance healing to support energy balance. This modality is not a substitute for clinical care or mental health support. If you are interested in learning more or to book a service, please check out my support sessions page.
If at any point your needs exceed my scope of practice, I will refer you to the appropriate specialist.
Disclaimers
All services and content offered by Embodied Birth—whether through 1:1 sessions, programs, the website, or social media (including but not limited to handouts, meditations, recordings, videos, text, and workshops)—are intended for informational, educational, and personal growth purposes only. No claims are made regarding the treatment or cure of any condition. While I do my best within a private program series to provide a more tailored educational experience of the program, the information in the program is by no means complete or exhaustive and therefore does not apply to all conditions, disorders and health-related issues.
HypnoBirthing® and energy work are complementary wellness practices and do not replace appropriate medical or psychological care. While many clients report positive outcomes, results will vary, and I make no guarantees.
You are solely responsible for your health and decisions. It is your responsibility to consult with your healthcare provider regarding any physical, emotional, or psychological concerns before participating in these services.
Important Health Considerations & Suitability
HypnoBirthing® and energy work are not suitable substitutes for professional treatment of complex health or mental health conditions. If you are currently diagnosed with or suspect you may be living with any of the following conditions, it is essential that you are actively working with a qualified healthcare provider before engaging in these services. Please consider the following carefully.
Mental Health Disorders: If you are living with complex mental health conditions such as PTSD, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, or severe anxiety or depression, you must be receiving care from a qualified provider. These services may not be appropriate for all individuals with mental health diagnoses.
Epilepsy and Seizure Disorders: Certain visualization, relaxation, or hypnotic techniques may not be suitable for individuals with a history of seizures. Please consult your healthcare provider before participating.
Cancer and Serious Medical Conditions: HypnoBirthing® and energy work can be supportive during illness but are not treatments for cancer or other medical diagnoses. If you are in active treatment or recovery, you must receive clearance from your care team before engaging with these services.
Substance Use and Addiction: Embodied Birth services are not appropriate for individuals actively using substances in a way that interferes with their mental, emotional, or physical safety during sessions. If you are currently navigating substance use challenges or addiction, it is essential to seek support from qualified medical or mental health professionals. While those in stable recovery may benefit from the relaxation and grounding techniques offered, these services are not a substitute for addiction treatment, detoxification, or therapy.
By participating in Embodied Birth services, you acknowledge that you have disclosed any relevant health conditions to your healthcare provider and have received their guidance and consent where needed.
If concerns arise during our work together that suggest you may benefit from more specialized support, I will respectfully refer you to an appropriate professional.
