I live and work on the Traditional Territories of the Ta’an Kwäch’än Council, the Kwanlin Dün First Nation, and the Carcross/Tagish First Nation in Whitehorse, Yukon. I am deeply grateful to be able to build a life and raise my family in this beautiful and peaceful place.
My son was born on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation—a day that invites reflection on our history, the ongoing impacts of colonization here and around the world, and the resilience and strength of Indigenous peoples. Each year, it reminds me of the importance of carrying forward love and respect, and of the possibility for healing and learning that exists for all of us as human beings.
Our bodies carry these histories, just as they carry the possibility of renewal. In birth, we are invited into a moment of deep transformation, to bring forward love and strength, and to lay down pathways of healing for the children who come after us. Each child’s arrival is a chance to tend the connections that sustain us and to shape a future rooted in resilience and care.
As a White Settler, I acknowledge my ongoing responsibility in the work of Reconciliation. I hold deep respect for the original peoples of this land, and for the relationships, teachings, and cultural lineages—including those rooted in Indigenous, Hindu, and Buddhist traditions—that continue to inform my life and practice..
I’d love to connect with you on my channels. Follow me and let me know what kinds of things you’d like to learn about!
